Town of Purcellville Use Case

The Town of Purcellville promotes economic growth by increasing spend towards small, local, and diverse businesses through the Purcellville Portal.

The Town of Purcellville in Virginia is a community of 9,100 residents and has an estimated daytime population of over 15,000 people, making it the economic hub of western Loudoun County and a popular weekend destination for antiquing, entertainment, farmer’s markets, wineries, breweries, distilleries and restaurants.

Purcellville has proudly maintained its historic old-town, countryside feel through the years. However, with the surge of COVID-19, which forced businesses to shut down, Town staff realized it was imperative to promote initiatives that allowed small business owners to have new sales channels, especially in the online global marketplace.

GLASS worked with the City of Seattle to launch its online WMBEs Local Portal. With the Portal, the City delivered a user- friendly experience for government buyers to seamlessly find local WMBEs, access their catalogs of goods and services, obtain instant quotes, and check out with only a few clicks.
